Teenage fast bowler Braeden O’Donnell is the latest exciting prospect to join the senior setup by making the switch from nearby Friarmere.
The left-arm 15-year old quick bowler is highly rated in the age group squad at Lancashire CCC having been picked up at U12 level following a successful trial there. Braeden made the most of his opportunities, moving through the age ranges there whilst playing his junior cricket here at Delph.
His experience has included training with the Lancashire Age Group squads since U12 and he will be playing in the Lancashire CCC U15’s this coming season. Braeden was invited onto the Emerging Players Programme last September which has helped him fine tune his skills. The EPP programme is designed for selected players in County setups looking to progress into the elite tiers of cricket, one which our current 1XI captain Xander Selby benefitted from in 2019.
O’Donnell made his senior club cricket debut at Friarmere at the age of 12 which has given him valuable exposure to the cut and thrust of mens cricket. Braeden will be playing in Danny Jones’ 2XI squad and will also feature in Zak Pemberton’s 3XI development squad.
We wish a warm welcome to Braeden and his family.
