The club are pleased to announce top opening batsman Mosun Hussain has committed for a sixth season at the club, despite interest from elsewhere.
Mosun has been a keystone in the first team after crashing onto the scene in 2017. He made an immediate impact with a rip-roaring start where he scored five centuries in his first seven matches. That season we also won the T20 Trophy for the second time running. Mosun went on to win the best Huddersfield Cricket League batsman award in 2018, his second season at the club and put in some brilliant performances as we won the Sykes Cup. His dogged innings away in the semi-final at Almondbury Wesleyans was particularly notable.
During last season’s scrape with relegation we were indebted to Mosun for some stunning performances in the run in, especially his determined century at Thongsbridge as Premiership cricket for this season was secured. He also was the leading fielder taking 18 catches in all competitions, many of them in the slips.
Mosun has scored over 4,800 runs for the club during his time with us and we’ll hopefully look forward to him breaking the 5,000 run barrier in 2022 as the team begins to take shape.
