We're excited to welcome talented all-rounder, Uzzair Shah, to our first team at Delph & Dobcross Cricket Club. Our third new signing of the season. Hailing from Glasgow but now based in Manchester, Uzzair brings experience and a fresh dynamic to the upper order.
Uzzair's cricketing journey is nothing short of impressive. A cultured batsman who gives us a seam-up bowling option, he has represented Scotland at various age groups and made his mark on the international stage at the 2020 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup. Notably, he topped Scotland's run charts in the tournament, showcasing his exceptional talent with a remarkable innings of 71 runs while chasing down UAE's target of 249.
With a rich cricketing background, including his father's first-class career in Pakistan and his brothers' involvement with Lancashire and Scotland age-groups, Uzzair is set to continue the family legacy of cricketing excellence. Last season, he proved his mettle in club cricket, bagging an impressive 25 wickets at an average of 18.
Now, Uzzair is eager to make his mark in the Huddersfield Cricket League, and we're delighted that he has chosen Delph & Dobcross CC as his new cricketing home. Welcome to the club Uzzair!
